Breath Alcohol Analyzer is a device for estimating blood alcohol content (BAC) or detecting viruses or diseases from a breath sample. This contains an anode (negatively charged electrode) and a cathode (positively charged electrode). When one will blow into a breathalyzer, the ethanol in the breath reacts with water from the air at the anode and is oxidized to form acetic acid (like in vinegar). Breath Alcohol Analyzer is used by police to determine the amount of alcohol in the system of persons suspected of being intoxicated.
